HOLY FUCK, I LOVE THE AQUABATS [Monday July 13th, 2009] vaginasaurus News update from the Aquabats! I pulled out the best parts for the nobody on my flist who cares. Hahahahaha ILU GUYS STILL <3 With a possible title for the next album already being thrown around, The Aquabats are busy working toward their next masterpiece!! "It will be a beauty!", says Crash Mclarson, of the Aquabats AKA 'The little ray beam of positive Light'. "Everything the band is doing right now is like little golden cookies and I cant help but feeling so lucky to be part of the greatest band in the world!", Crash gushes. It looks like things are really going to be great from now on, and it's a good sign that Crash is working so hard to make sure this will be the best new record the Aquabats work on this Year. The mystery capitalization aside, I'm excited! A new album and Crash is excited about it!They're on twitter now, too! Speaking of which, we apologize for the slow updates this past month but the Aquabats band management and booking agency have been working hard to make sure all the bands get paid and are compensated for their participation in the big 'SKA' fest show in Denver last month. It seems a fiasco arose when the young plucky promoter got in over her head and made too many deals with very little to back herself up. It was an unfortunate situation at a really awesome and fun event. It happens sometimes. It just does. And even though we got thrown under the bus for actually accepting the large offer to headline the show, and then actually expecting to be paid close to what we were promised (oh!...the audacity!...of HOPE!), we want to thank all the fans that stood by us and didn't doubt our integrity. Not even for a second. When we say, "we will work something out..'. we meant it.. and our friends know it! And for those who remain in ignorance on the issue and want to assassinate our long standing good character from behind the safety net of computer screens, we say, "Lets put down those computer weapons of the cowardly and fight like men.... in speedos....in the mud.." So, okay. Besides whatever's going on with Ryan and Pete, I think this is actually not a bad article or interview on Ryan's part. He didn't say anything negative about Brendon and Spencer and he emphasized that the split seemed to be largely about creative and musical differences. He's also sad about being made the villain, which I thought was weirdly adorable for some reason. Oh Ryan Ross, you're kind of stupid but I had missed your monotone voice. The main reason that I think this article is not that bad, even with the Pete stuff, is that when my favorite bandom band split 3 years ago, Tom Conrad came out and posted passive aggressive blog posts about not quitting the band and selling a photograph of Butcher and Bill's lower torsos for $45. William Beckett showed up at Tom's favorite bar near his place and they got into some kind of altercation. Tom did not talk to anyone in The Academy Is.., including Butcher and Siska, for at least a year after the split and TAI wrote at least one song about him ("We've Got a Big Mess On Our Hands") and probably two ("Everything We Had"). And while Tom was obviously okay enough to go on a small acoustic tour with Bill and Siska this past spring, he still hates Mike Carden, probably because Mike talked negatively (he always thought Tom was more of a "touring guy" and never expected to write music with him) on him in interviews after Tom was out of the band. So basically, what I'm saying, is that this really isn't that bad when it comes to bands splitting up. Hell, it sounds downright civil. So, let's all take a second and chill, okay? read (35) cmnt

Long long time no update [Tuesday July 14th, 2009] silver_stargate [ mood | apathetic ] [ music | You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This - Toby Keith ] Its a bit ridiculous that even though I read my flist every single day and even comment infrequently I haven't done an update since March, so ummm oops? I got a new job on the 20th of April in a call centre where I take 'Enquiries' which is company code for "WHERE IS MY STUFF, WHY HAVE I BEEN CHARGED THIS, I HATE YOUR COMPANY, THIS IS BROKE, I CAN'T PAY, WHY IS EVERYTHING OUT OF STOCK, MY NEIGHBOUR STOLE MY PARCEL, I SENT THIS BACK WHY HAVEN'T I GOT MY MONEY BACK, MY HUSBAND/GAY LOVER BEAT ME AND I RAN AWAY PLEASE CHANGE MY ADDRESS...etc etc..." It's all a bit depressing and I've only been there 13 weeks, as you can probably pick up I don't really want to work there, my coworkers are lovely and my managers and trainers are also really nice but the main part of the job is listening to people complain for 6 hours straight whilst also going 'We have an offer on towels/pillows/hair straighteners today would you like to hear about it?' My soul is already dying a little inside. Apart from that nothing really has happened in my life, no friend or significant other drama (second part because there is no significant other...*slightly sad face*) I was as pissed off with Torchwood Week of Angst as everybody else and I have a sekrit Big Brother addiction I wish I didn't have (Freddie Freddie Freddie!!)
