Shmurf and I (accidentally) organized the biggest gay-rights protest that has ever happened in the QC area!

When we got to school today, there were about 10 of the GOD HATES FAGS people protesting in front, so we went to go yell at them. Then our friends walked out of class and their friends, etc. till we had MORE THAN 80 STUDENTS CHEERING FOR GAY RIGHTS! We ended up with food, drinks, music, and signs. It was like a giant gay fiesta! We were all smiles and boogying down and cracking jokes. We protested the protesters in front of the school from 7:20 this morning till 3:00 this afternoon. We're in all the local newspapers and on all the news channels, it's so amazing!

My mom and Jessy's mom came out to hold signs, too! And people 5 blocks away said they could hear us chanting. We got so much support from the community and passerby, and the GOD HATES FAGS people were just getting booed.

One of the the coolest things was that our whole movement was completely unplanned and came mostly from us texting students inside the school and telling them to join us. The support was really outstanding.

++After a few years of doubting whether or not meditation actually works, I think I've finally figured it out. It's a neat skill to be able to block everything out for a few minutes and feel 100% better afterwards.
++I really enjoy psychology class. I love getting to learn interesting stuff.
++Parents said that I can get a mohawk if I get a job. I've been thinking about whether or not my love for pretty hair outweighs my love of being a lazy ass.
++The chicago trip is next friday! It should be fun like always and parents might give me money to go shopping at H&M.

--My ipod died. I was listening to it, and it crapped out on me. It's just got a blank screen and when I plug it into the computer nothing happens.
--My stepdad's grandma died last night. They're making me to go the funeral, which is fucked because my whole life she cut me out of family photos and told me that I wasn't part of the family because I'm not blood-related.
--I've been paranoid again. When I'm driving, I always think that all the other cars are cops for some weird reason. And I'm pretty much convinced that all my friends hate me and they talk about me behind my back (I'm assuming they don't, but I'm still not so sure).
--School has become the enemy. I think my super-anxiety towards school has started to manifest itself as physical sickness. My "Holy shit I don't wanna be around all those human beings" turned into puking and I was home sick for a good chunk of this week.
--I've been crying off and on since friday afternoon for no real reason.
--A ton of people who used to be very against drugs and alcohol aren't anymore. It disappoints me, I guess? Jessy and I are the only ones who are Straight Edge now.
--The cat's sick again. And I know it's retarded, but I worry about her more than anything else. It fucks me up to see her in pain.
--So many things are changing and I was completely unprepared for it.

Jessy and I saw Doomsday yesterday, it was pretty cool. Visually, it was so kick-ass with gore and tribal paint and not-quite-futuristic technology. I've been looking for screencaps, but I can't find any decent ones.

DO YOU LISTEN TO DR. ACULA? Because ~~everything outta long island is gold~~ you should listen to them!
They're kind of screechy-screamy noisy boys, but they're super-fun at the same time. For the record, I really dislike hardcore, screamy shit just doesn't do it for me. But every Dr. Acula song has singing parts, pig noises, movie quotes, weird noises, and a little bit of melody. If you were having an end-of-the-world party, I bet it would sound just like Dr. Acula.
And! All their songs are named after Goosebumps books! That's what made me officially in love with them.

Let's talk "Pretty. Odd."

Firstly, I am not a Panic Fangirl by any means. I've been listening to them since the "Fever..." demos came out, and I bought the cd the day it dropped. But I could care less who they're screwing and it's just been within the last month or so that I've been able to tell any of them apart.

But this cd? It's flawless, a pretty amazing show-off of their talents. They did change their sound quite a bit, but I do like it because they're the type of band that does everything with fierce fucking style. They kind of infect your brain with their sugary pop melodies and force you to sing along.

Yeah, it's a total 100% Beatles ripoff. The last album was a Chuck Palahniuk ripoff, I'm cool with that. My only problem is that now that they don't have Chuck Palahniuk quotes to fall back on, the lyrics could've used some more work. You could 'cause you can so you do? Really?

I'm still a terrible lj friend, there's no time for commenting when I'm busy enjoying the FIRST DAY OF SPRING!

HAPPENINGS ON THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING!
--Me, HeyKinzie, Shmurf, and Jessy left after finals at 11
--We ate delicious calzones and baked goods while being loud and obnoxious.
--We smashed huge chunks of ice and climbed random fountains and shit.
--We played on the jungle gym ("We are soooo gonna jungle that gym!") and did donuts in the shitcar.
--The weather was perfect and we drove around yelling at innocent passerby. And we almost got shot in the ghetto.
--We called random phone-sex hotlines like 1-800-FAT-GIRL, 1-800-YOUR-MOM, 1-800-BIG-COCK, and the like. It was pretty hilarious.
--We snuggled baby guinea pigs. Because seriously, have you heard the little snuffly noise they make?!
--I named Shmurf's baby guinea pig Tom Bosley, because he looks like the dad from Happy Days.

But seriously, go call 1-800-MOO-COWS right now.

Is anyone else fascinated by suspension?

I first heard about it when I was 13-ish, I think from a show on the discovery channel or something like that. At first it freaked me out, like "yeah, piercings are neat and I love tattoos, but sticking hooks though your skin and hanging from them? That's fucking ridiculous".

But I still couldn't stop looking. I learned more about what/why cultures suspend, looked at photos, watched videos. I decided a long time ago that suspending is one of my goals for the future.

Not much on modblog has grossed me out. DIY Amputation, subsinction, rotted-through nipple piercings? No problem!
But ressurection suspensions squick me out soooo bad, and I don't know why.

Really? How so beautiful?

Good photography makes me happy in a way that nothing else can.

Because quite a few suspension photos have prodded an awe-filled "FUUUUCK!" from me.

I leave you with a pretty lady and argyle socks!
(I can't even fathom ever doing a knee suspension! Imagine being upside down and having hooks through your knees! It makes me shudder a little bit.)

I'm all buzzy from caffeine and procrastinating hard instead of doing my report for Advanced 2D (and I'm actually thinking about re-taking it for another credit? whut?).

Tomorrow and Friday are gonna be so fucking fun. We're skipping after finals tomorrow to eat calzones and wade in the river. Friday is the Sleepover O'Doom, which should be amazing. Fun times are always had when we get the whole group together.

I was invited to go to Minneapolis to take college photography courses this summer, but it's $1600 (plus food and transportation and whatnot). I don't have any money, and Parents told me right away that they're not paying for anything college-related. So instead I'm doing Metro Arts again this summer, where they pay me $300.
